Coincheck Becomes First Japanese Company Offering LAND in The Sandbox and Will Collaborate on New Content to Attract New Japanese Players

17 February, 2021 - Animoca Brands and Coincheck, Inc. ( "Coincheck")  today announced Coincheck will be the first Japanese company to plant a flag in The Sandbox gaming multiverse. Coincheck has acquired a large number of LAND ERC-721 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in The Sandbox, which it will offer to Japanese gamers through its Coincheck NFT marketplace scheduled to be launched soon.

By introducing NFTs to its audience via the partnership with The Sandbox, Coincheck will promote both the ERC-721 NFTs and The Sandbox game to Japanese users, especially to new players. Through collaboration with The Sandbox, Coincheck will create new, Japanese-focused content to introduce The Sandbox game to help expand its market in Japan. Japanese users are already becoming interested in NFTs through influencers, gamers, and creators, and the partnership is expected to strengthen this trend.
