Tiffany helps players become musical stars in her first officially licensed game

Hong Kong – December 16, 2014 – Tiffany Alvord, the singer-songwriter who rose to fame as a YouTube sensation, now stars in her first official video game. Animoca, the developer and publisher of hit mobile games Star Girl, Pretty Pet Salon and many others, today announced the launch of Tiffany Alvord Dream World, a simulation/role-playing game (RPG) featuring the talented artist and her music. Tiffany Alvord Dream World is now available for free on the App Store℠ and Google Play™.

Tiffany Alvord Dream World invites players to live a life full of music, glamor and fashion choices as they aim for superstardom under the tutelage of musician extraordinaire Tiffany Alvord. Even with all her natural charm and soulful musical performances, Ms. Alvord had to work hard to earn recognition and she knows it takes perseverance to become a superstar. Players will have to follow her advice to see their dreams of stardom become reality in this fashion-filled simulation/RPG.

Players will recruit members for their band, dress up in stylish clothes and accessories, perform on stage, interact with fellow stars, and pose for photo shoots — all part of a normal day in the life of a megastar. The game features a soundtrack of songs by Tiffany Alvord, customizable avatars, an enormous range of clothing combinations, and plenty of challenges and mini-games players will complete on their way to becoming a pop icon.

Tiffany Alvord Dream World was built using the Star Girl engine owned by Complete Star Limited, a joint venture of Crosby Capital Limited and Animoca. Star Girl games include Star Girl: Moda Italia, Star Girl: Beauty Queen, and the recently launched Star Girl Princess.

Transaction values Star Girl series at approx. USD 30 million

Hong Kong, 16 October 2014 – Animoca (Outblaze Ventures Holdings Limited), a smartphone games developer and publisher based in Hong Kong, announced it has completed the sale of seventy percent of its interests in its subsidiary Complete Star Limited to Crosby Capital Limited (Hong Kong stock code 8088) (“Crosby”). Complete Star is the owner of the smartphone, tablet and personal computer applications of the award-winning Star Girl game series. The consideration for the acquisition is USD 9.66 million (subject to adjustments) in cash and stock, with additional performance-based bonuses that could raise the deal up to approximately USD 21 million. Factoring in the remaining thirty percent stake owned by Animoca, this transaction values the Star Girl series at approximately USD 30 million.

Star Girl is a series of fashion role-playing games (RPG) in which players create a virtual female celebrity and determine her career, appearance and social life while interacting with the game world and other players. The Star Girl series includes Star Girl: Beauty Queen, Star Girl: Colors of Spring, Star Girl: Moda Italia, Star Girl: Valentine Hearts, Star Girl: Spooky Styles, and others. Star Girl games are among the relatively few mobile titles that target female users, offering a wide selection of in-game fashion apparel and accessories for purchase as virtual items for the player’s avatar.

Animoca will continue to service the business and enhance Star Girl games as a thirty percent shareholder of the joint venture. Crosby brings to the partnership its China connections and broad industry expertise, with the aim to create additional value for the game in the celebrity and fashion role-playing game sector as well as to develop opportunities in the O2O (Online-to-Offline) space.

New company consolidates properties and acquisitions based on famous intellectual properties

Singapore – May 21, 2014: At the Casual Connect Asia conference today in Singapore, Animoca, the mobile game developer and publisher behind Pretty Pet Salon, Star Girl, Thor: Lord of Storms and other popular hits, announced it is spinning off part of its games business into a new company named Animoca Brands. Animoca Brands will develop and distribute games based on licensed content; in addition, the new company will also maintain a portfolio of original titles and publish third party games. Robby Yung, executive director of Animoca, was appointed chief executive officer of Animoca Brands.

In order to consolidate various projects and recent acquisitions, Animoca has transferred to Animoca Brands the licenses and rights to games for a number of well-known IPs including Garfield, Ben10, Doraemon, Ragnarok Online, Ultraman and others. Spinning off Animoca Brands as a separate business will allow the new entity to pursue more licensing partnerships and accelerate the production and launch of its games.

In addition to branded games, Animoca Brands will maintain a portfolio of original games and also act as a publisher for third party titles, leveraging its user base to distribute new app releases.

“This is the logical next step for us,” said David Kim, chief executive officer of Animoca. “With the original Animoca, we established a successful side business helping famous brands enter the exciting world of mobile gaming, and now Animoca Brands will take over that business while Animoca continues to pursue a strategy of wide and varied mass market offerings.”
